Kate Lexie is the author of Somewhat Alive and The Fiercest Chicken in the Bookstore. She writes young adult and middle grade books across several genres. Her books always end happily and the dog never dies.

When she is not writing, Kate can often be found playing bass guitar, learning obscure historical facts with which to entertain her loved ones, or pondering the philosophical question of the ages—what is for dinner?

Kate has a BA in History and lives with her husband and two sons in Florida. They seldom visit the beach but often spend way too much time at theme parks. She also has a very impressive cat.
