Coffee and Cupcakes

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you all that I cannot in good conscience recommend Starbucks Oleato Latte. It may not be the grossest coffee I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely in the running. I wanted to like it. I really did.

It just kind of tasted like someone dumped some foul olive oil into my latte. Of course, if you like foul olive oil, you might really like it. I like olive oil usually, but not that Oleato stuff.

I haven’t had a chance to try the new lavender Starbucks drinks, but I remain hopeful. In fact, I’d probably like one right now. I’m trying to pull an all-dayer, and you know that’s challenging during daylight savings season.

Long-time readers of my blog will know that I detest the practice of daylight savings. The brilliant invention of electricity should have rendered the barbaric practice obsolete, yet here we are, changing time twice a year for no purpose whatsoever. I don’t care if it’s dark in the morning or dark in the evening. I just want to never change.

I’ve recently been watching YouTube Minecraft videos with my son. I’ve never understood the appeal of such a thing, because I prefer to simply play the game myself as opposed to watching others. Back in my day, you had to take turns playing video games with your brother and it was always more fun when it was your turn than when you had to watch him play.

But I suppose I can see some appeal after having actually watched some. They often have some sort of game within the game. And I’m learning a lot about how to use TNT, which I’ve always avoided as a surefire way to blow myself up.

I have to figure out how to make a creeper farm in a desert and then I’m going to be able to blow up so many blocks! I’m looking forward to it.

Also, I don’t like to brag, but my son made me my own custom Minecraft skin and I look amazing. I’d been playing with a Nancy Wheeler skin for ages, which was fine, but now I look unique, exactly how I want to look, and no one else has the same skin as me. And they probably never will.

In case you didn’t know, my birthday is coming up soon and I’d like to encourage everyone to eat extra cupcakes all month to celebrate. This is actually a personal best for me, as far as the number of consecutive years without dying, so I’m pretty proud. Of course, I hope to break my own record again next year. It won’t be easy, but I believe in myself.
