Characters

It’s been a busy season lately. Lots to do with holidays and the semester ending and so on. I’m pleased to say that my Christmas tree is up and Christmas shopping is nearly done. I could probably be finishing it right now, but instead, here I am writing another post.

We recently got a new video game, Tiny Tina’s Wonderland. I’m undecided as far as how much I like it. It’s definitely no Minecraft, but it’s kind of a fun novelty. We spent a while setting up our characters. There were a lot of options, so many different skills, characteristics, and looks a character could have.

And then I thought that maybe it was a little unfair because my whole life I only get to play as me. And there are so many other options!

It’s not like there’s anything especially wrong with being me. I’m sure there’d be some players who’d have it a lot worse. Plus, I’ve leveled up plenty of skills and all my stats aren’t too bad for the most part, except maybe for energy, which is incredibly low.

But wouldn’t it be more interesting if I could play as someone else? Just for like a day or two or whatever. Just to see what it’s like. Is everybody tired all the time, and if not, how would it feel to not always be one comfy spot away from a nap?

Maybe that’s part of why I love books so much. They give me a glimpse into what it’d be like to be someone else.

Of course, I recently finished Out of My Mind which does give you a new appreciation for the little things, like walking and talking. I’ll probably read the sequel at some point.

I also need to finish writing my Bookland sequel, Somewhat Unreal. And I need to finish Christmas, which comes swiftly this year. It’s a busy season.
